The Access Control System
proposed is a low cost, high security door access controller.
Each controller is designed to control entry to one door/gate.
Authorized staffs will be given a Contactless
Smart Card (CSC), which is 'registered' with the controller
to open the door under its control. To exit, simply press the
EXIT Button.
Every time the controller is 'triggered' by a registered card,
a record is stored in the built-in battery backup RAM in a cyclic
mode (i.e. first IN first OUT). These records may be downloaded
to host computer, via RS-232/RS-485 serial interface. Up to 32
doors access controller can share the same connection in a multi-drop
network.
The reader made up of an external and internal units of the contactless
smartcard read/write unit is mounted onto the wall near the door
panel outside the door. The controller for the reader is mounted
inside the door at suitable place.
Since the system operates in a contactless environment, the
compact in size reader is essentially maintenance free. There
is NO moving part for wear and tear and obviously there is NO
magnetic/barcode read-head to clean or change. Optional Keypad
is available for interaction with user such as entering of Personalized
Identification Number (PIN).
Access Control
ACS application is a highly secured system that
controls and monitors access to premises using contactless smart
card technology. Each door is equipped with a smart card reader
and controller. Entry and exit to secured sensitive areas is controlled
by cardholder's access privileges. The door controller would upload
all events to a central server for monitoring and reporting purposes.
The system is also designed with an administrative workstation
to facilitate real time movement of activities.
ACS application runs on Windows environment and supports Oracle
database. The friendly GUI provides easy learning curves and ease
of operating. Reports provided uses standard format or otherwise
is customizable as per requirements. ACS application is adaptable
to other front-end smart card readers such as contact card, hybrid
card and biometrics readers.
