Automatic Lane Barrier

The Automatic Lane barrier (ALB)
is a vertical swing arm barrier that is activated to allow passage
for a vehicle once a valid transaction is completed. In a manual
toll system it is linked to the LCS
and controlled by the toll teller. The swing arm will swing upward
once payment is received and the toll teller has pressed the "accept"
key. In the ETC environment, the swing arm will be activated once
the vehicle has been unidentified, classified and the appropriate
toll charge has been transacted by the system.
